ALL MAJOR LINKS TO MY LINE.
Since I completed my Website in May`04, not much happened after a year. I then changed the web address to www.morterancestry.com and new major contacts were quickly established.
I now include 17 more major links to my line including: Great Aunt Matilde Morter and 2nd Cousins Bettina Alsina Morter, Maria de los Angeles Morter and Juan Ferretti Morter; all are alive and well living in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I have also included 2 new 2nd Cousins in Denise Bridgeman & Alison Hurell who have “Hariet Tinker” connections (I`m still hoping for a tie up with Admiral Tinker!) ; and a 6th Cousin in Laura Handley.

1. Great Aunt MATILDE MORTER and 2nd Cousins: BETTINA ALSINA MORTER, MARIA de los ANGELES MORTER, JUAN FERRETTI MORTER
I have a lot of living 1st Cousins, but not until now a 2nd Cousin; a direct descendant of my Great Grand Father, Meshack Morter. We now have 3 with Bettina, Maria & Juan Morter; plus, even more so, a Great Aunt with Matilde Morter. They agree with my line, up to Meshack & Harriet; after which their line continues with Barron Wells Morter & Ernestina Gimenez. Contact made via Genes Reunited in May`08.
The notorious “Baron Wells Morter” a great Landscape Artist, brother of my Great Grand Father James is the important link; because he went to South America, and in Juan`s words: As I was telling you, Barron Wells Morter married Ernestina Soria Jimenez in Catamarca, Argentina. He had come from England to work at sugar refinery plants in the province of Tucuman (in the north of Argentina). There he met my grandma Ernestina (the story goes that she was the only redhead in Catamarca), the daughter of a very traditional, may I say 'patrician' Spanish-Argentine family (the Soria Jimenez's), whose line of ancestry dates back to the Spanish Viceroyalty of Peru, having come from Spain via the Pacific in the 16th century. That marriage yielded three daughters: Catalina, Ramona (my mum) and Matilde (the only living daughter of Barron).
Barron then began working for the local English railway company (as most English people did in those days in Argentina), and came down to the capital city of Buenos Aires, where his activities at the British consulate suspiciously increased, and only after he died did the English Consul tell my grandma that Barron had been working for the secret service!. My grandma received her King George medal and a British pension for life, she was especially greeted by the then Prince of Wales on his visit to Argentina before WW2.

Denise agrees with mine, up to Meshack Morter & Harriet Tinker b1848. Eliza Jane Tinker was Harriet`s Sister, and directly goes back to Denise. 14. 5th Cousin: KATE DRYSCALE daughter of KEITH MUSCATT/ MORTER. Sadly Keith is no longer with us, he passed away on 8th Sept`07, after a 4 year battle with Cancer; however his family line lives on.
