MY FAMILY LINE

I have only just managed to distinguish between “Family Trees” and “Family Lines”.  So if anybody out there is having trouble, here is some help. This is an example of my “Morter/Lowry” 3rd generation Family Tree, showing both Lines.

Throughout this Website, I will be referring to different Morter Family Lines, beginning with my own below on a Link. As a result of the information from the Reverend Crusha and my Cousin Daphne, the following is an accurate record of my Morter/Mortier Family Line.

Peter Morter Line and in more detail PM Line

You can see it starts from Thomas Morter, buried in North Walsham on 21st Dec`1636, and then goes right through to ME.  Perhaps at this stage, Robert`s Family Line, based on the 64 Page Dossier is also worth looking at.

You will notice however, in both Lines, there is no reference to France at all.  There is NO FRENCH CONNECTION; both are English right through!

As you can see, we are definitely 10th Cousins, connected to Philip Morter Bur.30/06/1769 Hethersett & Elizabeth May 2, mar.05/01/1725! Robert explained to me on the phone that night, the information from my letter about a `Philip Morter buried at Long Stratton in 1722` agreed with his information.  He then went on to tell me about a "64 Page Dossier" and an accompanying “Morter Family Line”, that went further back to a Thomas Morter born in North Walsham in 1600, three generations further back, however, No French Connection; but worse still, we were mostly Paupers!
He explained that his mother Margaret used to be married to his father, Ray Morter from her first marriage. A good friend of Margaret did the research, at that time.  You will also notice, that Ray’s brother Geoffrey lives close to Robert near Wymondham; and is very much interested in the “Morter Line” as well.

However, on close inspection of the 64-Page Dossier, there are no death or burial records attached to either Philip or Catherine, with Thomas and Frances after them or Philip and Dorothy before them!

“Philip and Catherine” is the key to the problem!
